The Bois de Païolive conceals a landscape made up of limestone rocks with eroded contours, the bedrock of a Mediterranean forest.

This circuit offers an amazing view of the Chassezac River from the cliff path above. Please take great care and do not go too near the edge.

 

Description

  1. Poteau Parking de l'Estong - Follow La Corniche 0,5 km (PR).
  2. Poteau La Corniche - Follow La Gleysasse 0,8 km (GR). Make sure you do not venture to too close to the edge – the rocks can be very slippery.
  3. Poteau La Gleysasse - Follow Parking de l'Estong 2,3 km.
  4. Follow (PR) Parking de l'Estong 1,2 km.

Access and parking

From Vans (6 km), take the D901 towards Alès. Continue to the left on the D252 and reach the Estong car park.
From Joyeuse (16 km), take the D104 towards Alès. Continue on the D252, to the right, to reach the Estong car park.
